Merge Chains refers to items that are related to each other, through the process of merging. The new item produced from merging two items is considered the next level of that Merge Chain. For instance, the following is a merge chain:

• 2 X Level One Gloves = Level Two Weeding Fork
• 2 X Level Two Weeding Forks = Level Three Trowel
• 2 X Level Three Trowels = Level Four Secateurs
• etc.
